Monica Maduekwe
Profile
Monica Maduekwe is a critical thinker with original, yet practical solutions to problems relating to inefficiencies.
For 10 years, she specialized in developing West Africa’s sustainable energy market, working with private sectors and governments through various capacities covering renewable energy, energy efficiency, gender mainstreaming and finally resource mobilisation & project development, all within the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE).
Her well-rounded work experience at ECREEE means that I am able to:
• conceptualize energy development projects,
• conduct techno-economic pre/feasibility studies on them,
• analyse their impact based on environment and social/gender aspects,
• design their financing plans and mobilize financing,
• implement, monitor, report and close.
Although she occupied several roles at ECREEE, the work of conceptualizing and leading the development of the ECOWAS Policy for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access, adopted by the Heads of State in 2017, remains my proudest achievements in ECREEE.
True to being a tech-loving millennial, I moved from ECREEE into the technology space, founding PUTTRU Technologies Limited.
PUTTRU disrupts the traditional capital raising and investment process in Africa’s energy market by cutting through the challenges of bringing investable businesses and serious financiers together. Disrupting since 29 October 2020 (our go-live date).
PUTTRU is her most ambitious endeavor.
