ARTICLE ON WASEND’S SECOND SYMPOSIUM

 

The second symposium took place on 3rd December 2021. The Guest Speaker was Prof. Daniel Yamegueu Nguewo, an Associate Professor in Renewable Energy from 2iE. He gave a presentation on the Development of large-scale solar photovoltaic power plants: challenges and prospects. Ten postgraduate students from the various Colleges of Engineering gave presentations on the underlisted

topics:

  • Climate vulnerability of a photovoltaic energy source and the development of a digital vulnerability mapping

  • Optimisation patterns of the solar photovoltaic penetration rate in Burkina Faso electric grid

  • A day-ahead electric vehicle charging demand forecast with optimized feedforward artificial neural network

  • Electricity management strategy for a residence in a hot climate with limited energy resources

  • Life cycle assessment of PV system/plant in developing country context

  • Caracterisation thermique de six essences de bois tropicaux frequemment utilisees dans le batiment au Benin

  • Prise en compte de l’effet du champ magnetique et de l’anisotropie en permeabilite dans le processus de la diffusion des contaminants a travers le sol

  • Elaboration d’un composite a matrice cimentaire a substitution la pouzzolanique de cendre balle de riz a renfort de bagasse de canne a sucre

Fifty-one (51) participants joined the meeting. There were 2 breakout sessions moderated by experts between the presentations and after. The International Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE), Burkina Faso, hosted the second symposium.
