The Gambian Technical Training Institute (GTTI) hosted the second academic exchange programme from 28th February 2022 to 4th March, 2022 in Gambia. The exchange was solely dedicated to technicians to understudy the state of laboratories and equipment in GTTI.

Participants were Prof. Kokouvi Edem N’TSOUKPOE from the International Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE), Burkina Faso, Mr. Robert Kyere from the University of Science Engineering, and Technology (USET), Gambia, Mr. NOUNAGNON Hector Alexandre Vignon from the College of Engineering, University of Abomey Calavi, Benin and Mr. Robert Kofi Kyere from College of Engineering, KNUST.

Participants visited the autoshop, welding and fabrication shop, carpentry and joinery shop and the electrical and electronic laboratories. They were introduced to the modalities of the usage of machines and lab equipment.

Presentations were also made to students on internal combustion engines, the basic characteristics of combustion chamber designs and identifying the various components of an engine as well as principle of operation of 4 stroke cycle, while some faulty machines were also fixed during the academic exchange programme.
